The Beaker by Peter Berg in Mainz-Kastel

The archaeological discovery of a geometrically decorated clay bells cup of Petersberg in Mainz-Kastel confirms the presence of members of the so-called Beaker culture, which until the Neolithic period from about 2500 2000 BC, is detectable. The name Bell Beaker culture is based on the widely-bodied cup in the shape of an inverted bell, which is a typical clay vessel of that culture. The culture was from Portugal in the west to Hungary in the East and of Italy in the south to spread to England in the north. Except in those countries, it was also in Spain, France, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland. The bell cup from Peter Berg is kept in the Landesmuseum Mainz.
